2026 is still in progress, but the year has already marked a shift in our work with amputees and children who struggle with mobility. The interventions so far have been practical and focused on helping people move, work, and manage daily life with more stability.
Sitis Christi has become the primary sponsor of food for the Waterloo amputee shelter. The shelter houses ten amputee men. This support provides consistent meals and reduces the daily uncertainty they have lived with for years.
David is 13 and lost both legs when he was 5. For years he walked to school on his stubs. This year, funding provided prosthetic legs and a wheelchair. His legs have been fitted, and he is now in therapy and gait training before returning home.
Joseph is a 12-year-old student born with a rare growth plate disorder that affects how the ends of his leg bones form. His knee joints remain unusually small and irregular. His legs are weak and painful, and he can walk only short distances.
A wheelchair will soon be provided to help him move safely, attend school, and get through his day without the strain he currently faces.
